Reasons Why Tiny Toy Poodles Make Excellent House Pets

Small dogs seem to have a lot of negative comments made about them. They have a reputation of being 'yippy' and annoying. Well I am the proud owner of a five and three quarter pound tiny toy poodle and I want to list a few reasons why they make an excellent house pet.

* If you train them correctly... they are not 'yippy.' Yes, their bark is not going to be as deep as a larger dog, but if your pet is trained well, it's only going to bark when you approve. One way to help stop a barking dog is to train it to 'speak' on command. It sounds strange, but once they know what it is labeled, it's easier to get them to stop when you want them to.

* They make excellent lap dogs. Dogs by nature are very caring and these little guys love nothing more than to be sitting with you. You are never going to lose a small dog in your house because it will always want to be by your side.

* Their food is highly inexpensive. My tiny toy poodle consumes on average a quarter of a cup of kibble in a day! This means that I can buy a small bag of dog food (for about $20) and have it last for months.

I hope that anyone reading this who is considering a small dog as a pet goes through with it. You will definitely not regret the decision to bring that joy into your home and heart!
